In early December, Bella Hadid was crowned model of the year at the 2022 British Fashion Awards, and that's not her only exciting news for the final month of the year. Albeit, this other change has nothing to do with awards or her modelling career and everything to do with her brand-new honey-blonde hair colour.
She debuted the lighter hair on Instagram Stories via a selfie video with a super cute teddy bear filter on December 19. Bella's dark brown hair was nowhere in sight, replaced with this golden blonde hue. Her hair was left unstyled with a slight middle part that let her straight blonde hair cascade around her and past her collarbones. Her light brown roots faded seamlessly in the brighter blonde shade for added dimension.
Hadid didn't share what inspired the dye job, but she captioned the short clip, "feeling a little better and a little blonder." Clearly, she's 100 percent into this hair change, which isn't too shocking to us. This hair colour change may be drastic to some fans, but for Hadid, it's probably not too different from her natural hair colour. With this blonde hue, Hadid looks like she could be Gigi's twin rather than her younger sister.
Bella Hadid first dyed her hair brown for a few reasons. Back in 2016, the model told Allure that the dark brown colour fit her "darker personality" better. "I'm not trying to be this cool girl," Hadid said. In fact, Hadid dyed her hair as early as 14 simply because she enjoyed it. In an interview with Glamour US, she noted, "I dyed it black and blue, I wore eyeliner — I was a punk kid. I might want to go blonde eventually!"
Now, six years later, she's back to rocking her natural hair colour. We have no clue if this dye job is permanent or just a temporary change for the holidays. But, we're excited to see Hadid re-enter her blonde era in the new year.
